A man with curly hair and glasses kneeling on a wet sidewalk, holding an orange kitten, is kneeling across from another man sitting on the sidewalk with a brown hoodie and a cap, who is looking at the kitten. There is a cardboard sign that reads 'HOMELESS!!' and expresses gratitude with a message, a plastic container with food, a small plastic water bottle on the ground, and a small cup of water.

Housing Assistance and Basic Human Needs

Whether its assisting with living arrangements, or the provision of clothing, food, and infant formula, we are committed to make a meaningful difference in the communities we serve. In the spirit of our more than half initiative, a minimum of 51% of general funds are dedicated to meeting the most urgent needs of our community. That has translated into providing interim housing, as well as rental and security deposit assistance to housing insecure families throughout Los Angeles County.

Corporate Activism

Corporate policy is one of the most underutilized vehicles to advancing social and environmental justice. Do Better Together is developing strategies to make it easier to use activist investing as a catalyst for meaningful corporate reform.

The woman in the foreground has her back to the camera, with dark hair in a bun, wearing a green top. The man in the background is blurred, wearing a light grey shirt, looking at the woman. A drink with a red straw is on the table.

Normalizing Financial Transparency

We encourage corporations and community leaders to normalize financial disclosure. Those looking to take the next step can sign on to the More Than Half Initiative, which asks corporations and community leaders to commit to giving away at least 51% of earnings that exceed their annual goals. This initiative allows our partners to assess the ways they are using their resources to effect meaningful change in the areas that matter the most.
